From zero to a working portfolio in minutes
PortfolioStack is designed for speed. Whether you're a project manager onboarding a new initiative or an executive trying to get a consolidated view of your team's work, you can have a live portfolio up and running in under 10 minutes. Here's how.
Step 1: Search for your project archetype
Use the search bar on the home screen to find a project template that matches your initiative. PortfolioStack includes hundreds of pre-built work breakdown structures (WBS) across industries — from federal compliance programs to commercial software rollouts.
Step 2: Add it to a portfolio
Click the portfolio button on any project card or detail page. If you don't have a portfolio yet, you'll be prompted to create one. Name it anything — you can rename it later. The project's tasks and cost estimates will be snapshotted immediately.
Step 3: Adjust dates and costs
Open the Grid view to see all tasks across every project in your portfolio. Click any start date to open the date picker, or click the cost field to adjust the labor rate for a specific task. Date changes cascade automatically to all downstream tasks — you don't need to manually recalculate.
Step 4: Share or export
Use the Share button to generate a public link or email the portfolio to stakeholders. For spreadsheet exports, connect Google Sheets from the Integrations page and use the Export button to push the grid directly to your Drive.
